Mother's body and baby's developments in 32 weeks to 35 weeks

At 32 weeks...

At 32 weeks, you will feel breathless because of the growing uterus on the lungs and your belly button is flat or everted, if you have any belly button piercings, take them out at this point. In these last 4 weeks, the baby’s weight is almost double and it is 28 cm tall and weighs around 1.7 kg, it is putting weight under the skin and looking fluffier now.

At this point, the baby’s eyes are usually grey or dark blue, but the final color appears one year after birth. With the passing of time, swelling, aches, cramping, reflux and heartburn will get worse. You will increasingly feel more tired and experience increased frequency of urination. Rest as much as you can and feel okay to ask help from those around you.

At 33 weeks...

At 33 weeks, your baby is 29 cm tall and weighs around 1.9 kg, baby is practicing sucking and swallowing at this time, these reflexes will continue developing till the end of 34 weeks. Your baby’s liver is storing iron and this will support your baby till 4-6 months’ post-partum. The baby’s lungs are developing and a lot of surfactant is being added to help baby breathe after birth, babies born at this stage have a very high survival rate.

At 34 weeks...

At 34 weeks, the baby’s weight continues to increase and this makes it unbearable to lie on one’s back, just practice the lying on the side technique. Continue to eat healthy and do some light running or jogging, it will definitely help you sleep better, continue with pelvic floor workouts. A lot of women start noticing Braxton Hicks contractions now, but it’s alright if you don’t, you will soon.

At 35 weeks...

At 35 weeks, your baby is 30 cm tall and weighs around 2.1 kg, with its immune system developing. The baby can swallow and pass urine (1 liter of fluid). It is making kicks all over the place and this might be discomforting.
