    What is baby burping and why does it happen?

    Your baby burping is a significant step of the feeding process. Every time your baby swallows, air gets

    trapped in their tummy and this can cause discomfort. Some babies find it very easy to burp but others

    might need you to help them do it.

    When to burp your baby?

    There is no right time to burp your baby. Some babies have clues that let their mother know they are having a difficult time feeding, this is when you should know that they need a burping break. Otherwise carry on with your routine. Remember to always help your baby burp after a feeding. This will prevent any air from building up in the baby’s stomach.


    How to help your baby burp?

    You can help the baby burp with techniques such as over the shoulder, sitting upright or helping the baby with a burping napkin. Keep patting your baby on the back to show support.Also, remember to give support for the baby’s head, always. Don’t over-do the process as this might become tiresome.

    It is very common for the baby to spill some milk while burping, don’t stress and keep a napkin in hands-reach on place it on your back for reduces mess. To help prevent the baby from spilling milk, keep your baby in an upright position after feeding for 10 to 15 minutes, or longer.

    There are two ways in which babies burp
    • Wet burps are when they bring up a small amount of milk or formula milk along with air.
    • Dry burps are when they bring up air only.
