During the second trimester a lot of women experience increasing breast tenderness and increasing weight gain. Start looking for a sports bra, or one that has wide straps. Another phenomenon worth mentioning at this point would be Braxton Hicks contractions and a woman might feel them as an irregular contraction that forms a tightening stretch across the abdomen like a band of muscle. Skin changes are very common during this period and this can range from a radiant glow to increased patches of darkening areas you may notice these on your face first.

Stretch marks are also very common and these may be present around your abdomen, breasts, buttocks or thighs. Nasal problems are also a common concern, and a lot of women experience stuffiness and nosebleeds. Saline drops and saline rinses can help curb this problem. Increase water intake, dab Vaseline around the nose and watch out for a humidifier- that might be helpful too.  Dental issues are also a concern where the gums increase in sensitivity to brushing and flossing – this may result in minor bleeding for some women.

Frequent vomiting also ruins the dental enamel and makes you more prone to getting cavities. Changes in blood circulation may cause dizziness and this can be fixed with increasing fluid intake and avoid long hours of standing. Leg cramps are a major concern for most women and this can be fixed with massaging with a fascial gun, buying more comfortable ergonomic designed shoes, and practicing exercise and yoga regularly. Vaginal discharge can be fixed with panty liners and sanitary pads but if the color of this discharge becomes dark or it smells very pungent you might need to see a doctor about this.
